Core 2 Duo Late 06 MBPs
The Core 2 Duo bumped Macbook Pros are particularly difficult to estimate, for a few reasons.
- Apple have bumped the processors, but no other specs
- Is the Core 2 Duo upgrade simply a processor change, or was it deeper, but..
- What about the Firewire 800 port?
Apple have seemingly simply replaced the processors and left the rest of the specification very similar. If you check the apple specs page on http://support.apple.com/specs/ you'll see that the Core 2 Duo Macbook Pro models don't have an entry, but the Late 06 Macbooks do. That, and the fact that Intel would not have been able to continue supply of the old processors leads me to believe that the entire model line will be replaced sooner than they would for an ordinary bump, so I've allocated them 175 days.
So, the current MBP may have a shorter shelf life than a MBP usually would.
